> Dial thermometers

Our dial thermometers work on the bimetal, expansion or gas actuation principle. This enables scale ranges of -200 to +700 °C in different class accuracies, response times and resilience to environmental influences. Diverse connection designs, stem diameters and individual stem lengths enable a flexible measuring point design. Dial thermometers with capillaries are particularly versatile. All thermometers are suited for operation in a thermowell if necessary.

> Digital indicators

WIKA digital indicators are available in various designs for panel mounting and integrated in the connection head. Some versions feature HART® communication or additional switching outputs.

> Thermocouples

Thermocouples generate a voltage directly dependent on temperature. They are particularly suited for high temperatures up to 1,700 °C. Instrument designs from mineral-insulated sheathed cable are very resistant against extremely high vibration loads (depending on instrument model, sensor element and wetted materials). For thermocouples, the accuracy classes 1 and 2 apply (standard and special). They are available with a tolerance value in accordance with IEC 60581 / ASTM E230.

> Resistance thermometers

Resistance thermometers are equipped with platinum sensor elements which change their electrical resistance as a function of temperature. In our range of products you will find resistance thermometers with connected cable as well as versions with connection head. A temperature transmitter can be installed directly in the connection head. Resistance thermometers are suitable for applications between -200 ... +600 °C (dependent on instrument model, sensor element, accuracy class and materials coming into contact with the medium). Accuracy classes AA, A and B apply to all resistance thermometers. They are available with a tolerance value to IEC 60751.

> Temperature transmitters

Temperature transmitters convert the input signal from a wide range of sensors, such as resistance sensors and thermocouples, but in some cases also from potentiometers, into a standardised output signal (e.g. 0 ... 10 V or 4 ... 20 mA). With digital temperature transmitters, the sensor type and the measuring span can be freely configured, along with many further options such as the error signalisation or a measuring point identification.

> Temperature switches

Temperature switches are used in a variety of industrial and technical processes. If a preset temperature is reached, then the temperature switch opens or closes a corresponding switch contact. Depending on the requirements, mechanical or electronic switches can be used. In WIKA's broad product range, you will find the right temperature switch for every application.

> Thermometers with switch contacts

Wherever the process temperature has to be indicated locally and, at the same time, limit values must be monitored, thermometers with switch contacts find their application. The switch contacts make or break the circuit dependent upon the pointer position of the indicating measuring instrument. If the reading is significantly above or below a set value, they trigger an alarm, hence also the term “alarm contact”. The instruments are also suitable for starting, stopping or switching processes.

> Temperature controllers

The compact temperature controllers from WIKA offer display, control and monitoring of temperatures. The configuration of the sensor input is made via the multi-function input. Sensors, thermocouples and standard industrial signals, such as 4 ... 20 mA, serve as the input variable of a temperature controller. The control output can be set either as relay (for slow control), as logic level for the control of electronic solid state relays (for fast control and high current loads) or as a continuous 4 ... 20 mA output.

> Thermowells

Thermowells from WIKA are used with demanding operating conditions both in solid-machined versions from solid-body material and in fabricated versions with tubular design. The variants offered differ mainly in their designs; with flanges, with threads for screwing in or for welding in. Furthermore, all connections for sanitary applications and also thermowells in solid-machined Vanstone design are available without weld seams. The selection of materials and the manufacturing of the thermowells in accordance with global standards or to customer specifications ensure optimal protection for the sensor.

> Engineered solutions - temperature

Whether you are talking about the detection of complex and safety-relevant temperature profiles in reactors or the monitoring of the critical pipe temperatures in furnaces and combustion chambers – WIKA has a tailor-made solution ready for you. In other market segments too, such as in plastics manufacturing (LDPE) at pressures up to 3,000 bar or in processes in sanitary applications, you can also rely on our experience.

> Cables and connectors

With the patented magWIK magnetic quick connector, all WIKA temperature transmitters can be safely and securely connected in the shortest of times without having to unscrew and screw in the terminals.

The magWIK consists of an unbreakable insulation and is designed for the connection of 2 mm plug contacts or, with adapter, for standard 4 mm plug contacts. It can basically be used with all magnetic screws and grommets.

> Programming units

Digital temperature transmitters from WIKA can be very easily configured on the PC using the appropriate software. In order to be able to connect the transmitters with the computer, corresponding modems or interfaces are available for the various digital protocols.
